In today's fast paced world, we find increasing numbers of people between the ages of 35 and 60, suffering from neuro-musculoskeletal dysfunction (namely, back and neck pain). The major scope of practice of the Doctor of Chiropractic (DC, Chiropractic Physician, Chiropractor) is the neuro-musculoskeletal system, which we study more intensely than Medical Doctors (MD) (DO), and Physical Therapists (PT).

Current peer and non-peer review studies report an overwhelming body of evidence which shows chiropractic management of neuro-musculoskeletal dysfunction to be more cost-effective than medical management, and that many medical therapies for low-back pain are of questionable validity, with a majority of the cases being clearly inadequate.

While we use many of the same diagnostic procedures as our medical counterparts, Doctors of Chiropractic also take into account the patient's lifestyle, diet, and case history without the use of drugs or surgery, and of the fifty-three procedures performed daily in a typical medical practice, doctors of chiropractic are trained to perform all but four.
